In her early days as an architectural intern, Marie stood out for her ability to adapt to her environment and the people around her. When she joined L’OEUF in the midst of the pandemic, she quickly became part of the team working on the Vaudreuil-Dorion site, despite the fact that she was telecommuting. Her attention to detail, thoroughness and knowledge of technical drawing were much appreciated by her team-mates, leading her to participate in the development of working drawings for other projects, such as the Place Griffintown cooperative. Marie is also a “people person”: she’s friendly and enjoys meeting and talking to people. As a result, she’s an excellent facilitator who listens and understands what’s not being said. She proved herself at the PCI organized for Trait d’Union elementary school in Ste-Thérèse. Due to her great curiosity and optimism, she is a true “yes man”.
A native of Montreal, her thirst for a challenge led her to study architecture in Quebec City and to take part in an exchange program in Dortmund, Germany. Her time overseas had a definite impact on her vision of architecture: Less is more! At university, she became particularly interested in urban design and sustainable, social architecture. Towards the end of her studies, she turned her attention to urban acoustics. She was interested in the impact of the form of the built environment on the soundscape. Her research led her to spend some time working for the GRAP (groupe de recherche en ambiance physique) at Laval University. Since May 2023, Marie has been registered as an architect with the OAQ.
